There is something just so luxe about silk which is the reason why this fabric is a personal favourite of mine. It has the ability to make a very simple piece look glam without the need for accessorising or detail. Silk is also a fabric that works well for women of all shapes and sizes: got curves? Silk is the perfect option because of its fluidity which will flow over your curves and accommodate them well to provide a flattering silhouette. Slim framed women will carry off silk with ease.
This particular silk piece - Zoe Boomer’s silk Corbet dress is one of those dresses that will suit most shapes. I have chosen to style it very simply – all that is needed is a statement necklace and ring just to simply add some interest as the dress is minimal on detail… and you’re done! The colour of the dress is lovely and bold and is a statement piece in itself, so just these two accessories will ensure that you don’t overdo it! Especially as I have also teamed the dress with some duck-egg blue patent flats (pastels being on-trend for S/S’13) which contrasts well with the pink and again, makes a statement! (I’m all about making statements with fashion!) It also picks up the similar coloured blue stones in the necklace, bringing the outfit together very nicely and providing an all-round cute “matchy-matchy” look.
But if you prefer, you can of course, tone it down a couple of notches by opting for a neutral coloured shoe – a light taupe or grey would work well.
However you choose to wear it, enjoy doing so to the fullest!
